Vegas 2002

Vegas 2K2 was quite the experience, one that I won't be forgetting anytime soon. There weren't any down points, aside from the gambling losses. Saturday had to be the best day. That's when all of us got together all at once. Linda and I showed up a couple days early to do the tourist thing. Dave, Shelly, Jeri, and Darrel showed up Friday. I'm sure all of you know Dave & Shelly. Jeri is Shelly's and Linda's nail tech and Darrel is her husband. At that point, it was just pretty much a get together for us Denverites. We all met at the Samba restaurant in the Mirage for dinner. There is some good eatin' there! Jeri & Shelly had tickets to a show, so after a couple hours, we parted ways for the night. Although we did not have a photo session that night, my camera did get some use...

While waiting for the others to show up for dinner, Linda and I ran across this young lady at the Mirage. She and her partner were dressed very well. What I noticed most was her nails. These nails are mostly her own with acrylic overlay. Since we were in the casino, I could not get a bunch of shots, so I snagged one and moved on. I did not get her name, but thank you for posing.
We came across this lady at the Bellagio. She was a customer service agent of some sort. She was very shy and giggly as I complimented her and took a couple shots. Her name is Katie.
I did not want to take up much of Katie's time, so I took the second shot and gave her my card. I wonder if she's seeing this. Thanks Katie.

On to Saturday, Jeri & Darrel had their VW entered in a car show at the Harley Davidson Cafe. We spent a good part of the day here. Around 3pm, the final judging was to take place. The world famous Tigressa said it was a possibility she would make it to Vegas this year, but since she was moving the week previous, we didn't really know if to expect her or not. There was a mixup as to where the car show was being held, and Tigressa was told it was at the Hard Rock Cafe. She was in Vegas, and was wandering all around the Hard Rock Cafe looking for us and the car show. She didn't find us there, but she did find Rich from SexyLongNails.com. He was also there looking for us. After asking around, trying to find the car show, they pretty much decided to give up and make the best of it. They even caught part of a baseball game (on the tube). They eventually wandered over to the strip. As luck would have it, they happened to see what looked to be a car show. I saw this female figure walk by with an absolutely awesome set of nails. My mouth dropped open, and I grabbed for my camera. Then it sank in. She had found us! We were all so shocked. After taking a lashing for directing them to the wrong place, we settled down and got to know each other. Another half hour, and we may have totally missed her. How lucky was that? Now that we were all settled down, the cameras started clicking. I'm sure you will see other pics from the event, but this is what I came up with...

I was trying to take a shot of the VW Bus, but these nails got in the way!
In the "getting to know you" stage of the meeting, I snapped this shot of Shelly. Once again, Tig's nails got in the way. Grrrrrrrr
It's hokey-pokey time!!! You put your left hand in...everybody now!

With the car show wrapping up, Tigressa noticed a special motorcycle. Would you believe it looked like a tiger? Well, we just had to get pictures of that! Check these babies out!

Shiny chrome and shiny nails...what a combination!
The kitty likes its face scratched.
The thumb nail slips into the mouth. I think I'm getting light headed!

Linda and I had tickets to the NHL preseason hockey game for Saturday night between our Colorado Avalanche and the Los Angeles Kings. We had four tickets. The other two were for Ed and Rebecca, but unfortunately, they could not make the trip. We offered the other two tickets to Dave & Shelly earlier in the day. They said they would think about it. Then, Rich and Tigressa came into the picture. Dave & Shelly decided to pass on the game, so the tickets were offered to Rich & Tigressa. Even though they are not big hockey fans, they accepted. We parted ways after the car show and agreed to meet at the check-in of the MGM Grand for the game. The check-in area of that place is quite huge, so we were lucky to even meet up again. We grabbed a quick meal and headed to the game. Check out the next page to see the results.
